Overview:

Bus Stop is a restaurant designed to give diners a feel of American history through the experience of traveling the bus lines. The interior pays homage to a late 1930s bus station by integrating actual vintage buses and carefully selected vintage travel artifacts and décor. The aim was to create a simple and utilitarian atmosphere that reflects the era, aligning the menu and ambiance for a cohesive experience.

Project Goals:

  • Use subdued color schemes and metal wall treatments to evoke the simple, utilitarian feel of the era.

Design and Implementation:

    • A trolley is used as the order station, serving as a unique focal point.
    • A 1940s bus is repurposed as the main bar, which opens to both the interior and exterior through an overhead garage door.
    • Travel murals enhance the historical theme and add visual interest.

    • Subdued color schemes are employed to maintain a historical ambiance.
    • Metal is used for wall treatments and washroom décor to reflect the utilitarian style of the 1930s.
